The Buyer: Supports the purchasing function through purchasing goods and services from approved vendors. Negotiates
agreements with suppliers. Supports the purchasing function through purchasing goods and services from approved
Relative Work Experience: At least one year purchasing experience in manufacturing or shipping/logistics company required. Internships in related areas will be considered as experience for candidates with Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Education: High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Certifications / Licenses: None required. CPSM, SPM, APICS preferred
Computer Systems / Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MRP/ERP, FourthShift experience preferred).
· Ability to convey clear, persuasive messages that positively influence the thoughts and actions of others;
understand interests of all parties while exploring alternatives and actively striving to achieve agreements in
a timely manner.
· Ability to plan and prioritize work, assess work requirements and make timely and appropriate decisions
within the parameters of general guidelines and standardized procedures.
· Ability to adapt easily to changing business needs – adapting approach, goals and methods to achieve
successful solutions and results in dynamic situations.
