Are you ready to join us and make a difference? We have a career opportunity for a Electricromechanical Design Technician I to join our team! 

Responsibilities

The Electricromechanical Design Technician:

  • Promotes Helmer values as reflected in personal productivity and quality of work; maintains positive internal/external relationships; seeks & considers diverse perspectives; is committed to individual development and achievement of company goals/objectives.
  • Complies with workplace safety procedures.
  • Assembles and update prototype units for new and existing product including mechanical cabinet, electrical wiring and thermal control system.
  • Sets up and execute component, subsystem or unit testing as specified by engineering including test PLC programming, construction of data acquisition systems, simple board layout, selection and implementation of temperature measuring devices and other types of transducers.
  • Works with engineering to assist with various assigned projects.
  • Documents technical aspects of assigned projects and ensures that data is properly retained (Product/Design History files, Design Reviews, Risk Analysis, FMEA and requirements, Lab Notebooks, etc).
  • Assists in development and documentation of electrical or mechanical test fixturing.
  • Assists engineering in the layout, design, documentation and verification of wire harnesses.
  • Assesses and implement engineering change orders (ECO).

 

Qualifications

Relative Work Experience:  1-5 years related design or testing work experience (life science application preferred).  Knowledge of, or previous experience with wiring, PCB layout, software or PLC programming, 3D modeling, thermal controls, embedded design and system troubleshooting a plus.

Education:  AS or BS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

Certifications / Licenses:  None required.

Computer Systems / Software:  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, 3D CAD; Inventor, Diptrace, FourthShift, and PLC or C language preferred.

  • Able to work independently
  • Has skills in electronics troubleshooting with electronic test equipment
